The following conditions apply exclusively to rentals made on the island of Mallorca.
Under this contract, the lessor (VALLS ARENAL CAR RENTAL SL, hereinafter referred to as “Valls Rent a Car Mallorca”) rents to the renter, whose details appear on the front page of the contract, the vehicle described in the same section (hereinafter referred to as the “Vehicle”). The rental will be governed by the terms and conditions agreed upon by the parties, which replace any prior agreements.
A rental day is understood as the period from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Reservations will be automatically canceled if the vehicle is not collected within 2 hours after the scheduled pickup time, and the deposit paid will be forfeited. The excess (150-300 €) will be charged to the customer’s credit card at the time of vehicle pickup. If the vehicle is returned in the same condition it was delivered, the excess will be refunded via the same payment method. Damages not covered by insurance will be deducted from the total excess.
In the case of an accident or damage to the vehicle, the customer must complete an accident report and submit it to our office within 24 hours. If the vehicle is stolen, the customer must report it to the police and provide the report at our office. Any accident or damage not reported will be considered negligence by the customer, which could result in additional charges.
Valls Rent a Car Mallorca is not responsible for any bank fees charged by the customer’s bank when the deposit is refunded to the credit card. Third-party insurance covers the renter and authorized drivers for liability up to 70,000,000 €.
Valls Rent a Car Mallorca reserves the right to repossess the vehicle at any time if the customer breaches the contract conditions or if the rental period expires without the vehicle being returned.
If the customer returns the vehicle before the end of the contract, no refund will be made.
Valls Rent a Car Mallorca is not responsible for any items left inside the vehicle.
Online Reservation
To complete the reservation process, the user must select the reservation details (location, date, time) and the category of the vehicle to be rented. In no case is a specific color, make, or model guaranteed, only a vehicle category. The images of vehicles on the website are purely illustrative.
The reservation confirmation does not constitute a rental contract until the driver signs the contract at the office. The user is responsible for printing and verifying the reservation confirmation to ensure the details are correct.
Valls Rent a Car Mallorca reserves the right not to provide a vehicle to persons under 18 years old, or to those who do not possess a valid European driving license with the required minimum experience, or if, at the time of pickup, they are in a condition that could pose a risk to driving.
INSURANCE
- Cars: The price includes full coverage insurance with an excess of 150 to 300 €.
The following cases are not covered by the insurance and will be the renter’s responsibility:- Loss or damage of keys. The cost of duplicating and/or sending keys is the renter’s responsibility.
- Incorrect fuel type used.
- Damage to the underside or clutch.
- Towing service (only if the customer is negligent).
- Damage to accessories or interior of the vehicle.
- Tire damage (punctures are covered).
- Damage caused by driving on poorly paved roads.
- Damage to locks when parking in undeveloped areas.
- An additional insurance can be purchased for 8 €/day which reduces the excess to 0 €, exclusively for drivers over 23 years old.
- Motorbikes: The price includes basic third-party insurance with an excess of 300 to 500 €, plus a security deposit of 100 to 300 €. The vehicle will be inspected upon delivery and return by one of our employees. Any damage will be deducted from the excess.
Not included in the price:
- Additional drivers: 4 € per day, with a maximum of 30 € per driver during the rental period.
- “Young Driver” insurance: 15 € per day for drivers between 20 and 23 years old (with a driving license of at least 2 years). In these cases, the excess cannot be waived, and it is only available for Group A vehicles.
- Additional accessories: GPS, child seats, etc. Prices will be available at the time of reservation on our website.
Payment Method
VISA and MasterCard credit cards are accepted. Both the payment of the excess and its refund must be made with credit cards in the driver’s name.
Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as when they were delivered. The level will be specified in the contract. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling fee of 15 € will be charged, in addition to the cost of the missing fuel.
Traffic Fines
Valls Rent a Car will charge an administrative fee of 25 € (VAT included) when we receive a traffic fine. According to current legislation, we are obliged to provide the renter’s details to the relevant authorities in the event of a fine. This fee does not cover the payment of the fine, which must be paid directly to the authorities by the customer.
Vehicle Abandonment
Customers who leave a vehicle in a location different from that agreed in the contract must bear the costs of collecting the vehicle for breach of contract. In addition to the daily rental rate, a charge of 100 € (VAT included) will apply.
Restrictions
- Vehicles cannot be taken off the island or between islands.
- Customers must provide a local address (apartment, house, villa, hotel, etc.).
- The minimum age of the driver is 20 years for cars and 16 years for motorbikes, with a driving license older than 2 years. Drivers over 70 years old have the same conditions as young drivers.
- If the reserved vehicle category is not available at the time of pickup, a higher category will be provided at no additional cost.
- The insurance does not cover accidents or damage if the driver is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication, or any substance affecting their ability to drive, or if the driver is not authorized in the contract.
- Transporting animals or goods is not allowed. If violated, an additional charge of 95 € will apply at return.
- The renter may not assign, rent, mortgage, sell, or offer the vehicle, keys, documentation, or accessories as collateral. It is forbidden to use the vehicle for passenger transport for remuneration, towing, or competitions.
- Only individuals identified and accepted by Valls Rent a Car Mallorca in the rental contract are authorized to drive the vehicle.
- As a general rule, it is mandatory to display on the dashboard of the car the rental details: model, license plate, and rental period. If this information is not visible, the customer may be subject to a penalty.
Cleaning
The rental includes a standard cleaning of the vehicle. If the vehicle is returned excessively dirty, a special cleaning fee of 95 € will apply.
Cancellation Policy
For cancellations and refunds of the deposit, the customer must contact us at least 48 hours before the rental start.
Late Return of the Vehicle
If the vehicle is returned after the agreed return date, the insurance will be invalidated, and the customer will be responsible for a penalty of 30 € per day (VAT included), in addition to the daily rental rate.
